Rebecca Felcey is a French designer and an artistic director. This dual role gives her designs, a very creative approach and allow a rereading of the decoration.
Her work is nourished by the dialogue between the individual, the “idea” of the designer at the heart of any creative project, and the functionality of the object, its universality.
A recurring theme in Rebecca Felcey’s work is a search for formal and functional mastery regularly challenged by the “accident”. The latter becomes an integral part of the creative process. This “deconstruction” gives all its emotion to some of her furniture pieces.

Marcel low back armchair is THE iconic model of French rattan. Very popular in French countryside in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by peddlers who went from village to village. Light and robust, it was sometimes the only element of comfort in modest homes: to knit, smoke, listen to the radio, read by the fire, or chat under the apple tree… Comfortable, simple and robust, it is still trendy today. It can be used as an occasional chair, but its seat height allows it to be used also around a dining table.

The system functions as the heart of the living area, as it allows one to create a unique arrangement of its carefully designed elements:
steel shelves, American walnut compartments, leather wine racks and fine brass details.

As a result of its precisely angled backrest and the unique posture of its base, Lounge_02 obtains gentle, human qualities. Moreover the timeless design is somewhat reminiscent of a certain “art de vivre” as understood by Charlotte Perriand .
